nyc-parks.com is an independent visitor guide built to help locals and tourists find their way around New York City's parks, gardens, and memorials. From the world-famous lawns of Central Park to the moving 9/11 Memorial Plaza, we publish practical guides, event calendars, and tour recommendations so you can spend less time planning and more time outside.

This site is not affiliated with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, or any other agency that manages the places we write about. It is an independently maintained editorial project.

How we make money

nyc-parks.com is free to read and supported by affiliate links. Most of the outbound links on this site point to GetYourGuide, a tour and activity booking platform. If you book a tour or ticket after clicking one of those links, we earn a commission — you pay the same price either way. That commission never decides which parks, tours, or attractions we recommend: it's the same information we'd give a friend, and it doesn't change based on which operator pays more. Where a page links directly to an official government or institutional site (like nyc.gov or a museum's own site), we don't earn anything from that link — it's there because it's the most accurate source.

How we research these guides

We check the facts in each guide — park size, hours, subway access, historical details — against the official park and New York City agency sources that publish them — the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, the individual park conservancies, and the bodies that run specific sites, such as 911memorial.org for the 9/11 Memorial. Every guide carries a "facts checked" date so you can see how recent our last review was.

Where we give an admission price or a set of opening hours, treat it as an indication valid on that facts-checked date, and use the official link next to it before you build a day around it — these change, sometimes mid-season. Where a figure moves too often for a date stamp to mean anything, or where sources genuinely disagree, we leave it out and send you straight to the source instead of publishing a number we cannot stand behind.
